Philadelphia, PA-Carol Serena, longtime General Manager of Parc on Rittenhouse Square, has died.  She was a central figure in Philadelphia’s hospitality community, known for her uncompromising standards, mentorship, and the loyalty she inspired in those she led. She died on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

A Career of Influence

Serena’s career spanned decades in some of the country’s busiest restaurants. Before taking the helm at Parc under Starr Restaurants, she served as General Manager for China Grill Management. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she studied management at the College of New Rochelle and attended Bishop Kearney High School. She later made Philadelphia her home, where her presence in the city’s restaurant culture became defining.
